Warhammer Online is nearing it’s fourth month of operation - and while I had a fantastic time during the beta test, I couldn’t last very long during the live game itself. Why? Lack of spontaneous PvP that made beta so goddamn fun to play. I don’t know why this was the case - Octavarium played [...]

Pictured: Late Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning beta shot - open world RvR.
Not pictured: Live Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoining shot - open world RvR (doesn’t exist)
It’s very perplexing to me - all the different causes and reasons open world RvR doesn’t happen in live WAR.
All throughout beta, Scenarios were elusive - one could queue [...]

Syp’s Warhammer blog is usually full of good articles and write ups on WAR, and this writeup on Dwarf Slayers and the Knight of The Blazing Sun really is worth the read for the speculative.

The man himself has been quite busy over at the VN boards, answering questions and speculation about the Open-RvR system, upcoming patches, etc.
1. Open RvR is crucial to this game’s success. If we don’t have enough people doing open RvR, the game will not succeed as much as it could and should. We’re looking at [...]

According to Tigole:
Actually, we have been discussing new battlegrounds quite a bit lately. Wrath of the Lich King will feature Strand of the Ancients (attack/defend) as well as Wintergrasp (non-instanced, world PvP).
But past that, we are exploring ideas that would involve expanding our Battleground content in future patches and beyond. We believe we have some [...]

Folks,
Obviously one of the things that players want us to improve is our chat system. We are currently in the process of doing a revision on it but before we go too far, I’m interested in hearing what you want to see in it. So, please use this thread for suggestions [...]

Mark Jacobs tells Gameindustry.biz:
“In just one week we have a half a million people playing WAR online, and the ranks of Order and Destruction are growing at a record-breaking pace for a new MMORPG,” offered Mark Jacobs, co-founder of Mythic Entertainment.”
Not bad there, Mr. Jacobs. WAR’s beta ticker was somewhere upwards of 800k towards the [...]

WAR had a pretty good launch. Aside from server queues and a few somewhat major graphical glitches and such, it’s smoove as buttah.
That’s not to say the game couldn’t stand some improvement, and here’s some of the stuff I’d like to see in the first major patch:
Mounts
Mounts are one of the weakest links in WAR [...]

Mark told 1up in an interview:
“Are we going to put [the pulled content] in a paid expansion? No,” Jacobs explained. “What I’ve told the users point blank is that we want to give it to you as part of subscription content. We don’t have a schedule penciled in for when that will be coming, but [...]
