This seriously looks nothing like Max Payne.
Max Payne 3, which has only been announced by Rockstar, will hopefully have some more information revealed in July’s GameInformer, on which Max himself graces the cover.
At least, I think its Max. Whats the deal with the beard anyway? Actually, it looks nothing like Max. Wasn’t he some kind of tallish, lanky New York cop with a perpetual grin (which is missing from this picture) and a chip on his shoulder?
I’m excited for a new Max Payne, but at the same time, I really hope Rockstar doesn’t fuck with the classic Payne formula: gimmicky bullet time gun play with pulp-noir cut scenes and grim dialogue delivery from Max. That’s what made the first two games so awesome, and hopefully that same formula can still hold strong in today’s game market.
