YOU'RE A NICE GUY, BUT ON THE SET...
Well, I was kind of excited for Terminator Salvation, but now I’m really fucking optimistic. Cinemablend spotted the PG-13 rating on the official Salvation website.
To me, this is really dissa-fucking-pointing, as it has become more and more apparent at how horribly milked James Cameron’s original movies have become. The original Terminator movies were iconic and probably two of the best sci-fi/action flicks of the 1980s. The third movie, for whatever reason, featured a sexed up female Terminator, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Then, Fox starts airing The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which, if it weren’t for Summer Glau, I would have no reason to watch. And now? A PG-13 rated Terminator?
Warner Brothers is probably banking on the whole “OMFG ITS TEH BATMAN CHRISTIAN BALE LOL HEATH LEDGER BATMAN DARK KNIGHT LOL WATCHMANS” stigma that has inevitably surrounded most movies since The Dark Knight’s release (COMING SOON… FROM THE PRODUCER OF “THE DARK KNIGHT”. “FROM THE STUDIO THAT EMPLOYED THE SAME JANITOR WHO WORKED ON THE SET OF “THE DARK KNIGHT”.). A broader Terminator audience just isn’t ready for the robot on robot violence the original movies featured, I guess.
