Taste the Meat, not the Heat.

After thirteen years, King of the Hill is finally going off the air.  Cancelled, in fact, by Fox - so that smarter, more relevant cartoons like Family Guy and American Dad can be shown with a greater frequency.

I’ve always admired King of the Hill for it’s dry and smart humor.  The beauty of Mike Judge’s work (Office Space, Beavis and Butthead, Idocracy), is that the characters are immediately recognisable.  Everyone has met Hank Hill before, or know two kids like Beavis and Butthead (I’ve actually been compared to Butthead on more than one occasion).

Although after thirteen years, it’s not a big deal.  The newer episodes haven’t been nearly as funny as the older ones, and I suppose after that long of a run you start running out of material to do.
