On the heels of yesterday’s beta tester quote post, an Italian MMO site has released a “review” of their time with Darkfall. It’s basically a few screenshots and a summary of each screenshot, but this, combined with the actual in game shots of - gasp, character interaction, one can assume that Darkfall may indeed exist. In fact, that’s the first thing their (badly) translated article says:
Vaporware? Not at all! The guys here at Aventurine have great ideas to bring lots of innovations to the MMORPG’s world. Fortunately they’ve been able to put them in practice, and Darkfall Online is an absolutely reality, and is going to come between us. Let’s start from the top:
More emphasis on the fact that the game plays more like a FPS than an actual MMO.
I’m still skeptical. If indeed the game is real, the Darkfall devs are going about promoting it in a very strange way. At this point, I’m inclined to say that the game is real. Whether or not it’s going to deliver on it’s promises, we’ll see. If it does, I think it would offer a very unique gameplay experience, on top of changing the way MMO’s are done and played.
